Chris Elmore, MP for Ogmore, is calling for all eligible filmmakers in Ogmore to participate in Film the House, an annual competition that highlights the work of the best upcoming filmmakers to help them to reach their potential.

The Film the House competition is open to independent and student filmmakers in the UK.

The competition is both run by and sponsored by MPs, and Film the House was originally founded by MP Mike Waverly. Film the House hopes to educate young people and parliamentarians on clearing and copyright compliance and highlight the importance of the creative industries to the UK economy.

The competition is a chance for filmmakers to showcase their work to a panel of judges that includes industry professionals and is an opportunity for filmmakers to raise any concerns that they may have about the future of the creative industries.

The creative industries are the fastest growing sector, contributing £5 billion each year to the UK economy, and providing employment to over 2 million people.

Chris Elmore is proud to be involved in an initiative that brings attention to the creative industries and some of the best filmmakers in the UK and encourages all eligible filmmakers in Ogmore to participate.

Chris Elmore MP said:

“It is important that we recognise the huge contribution that the creative industries make to the UK economy. Creativity in Ogmore is everywhere and I know that we have some of the most talented individuals in the country when it comes to the arts.

“It is important that we give our local film makers the recognition and support they deserve. Film the House is an excellent opportunity for them to meet with industry experts and learn more about the sector.”

“I’m encouraging as many constituents as possible to get involved in this competition and demonstrate to the UK what talent we have.”
