Chris Elmore MP and Huw Irranca-Davies AM joined campaigners from WASPI (Women Against State Pension Inequality) at their rally at the Senedd and march to the Wales Office in Cardiff. They are protesting against the changes made to state pensions of those born in the 1950’s. The changes were brought in quickly and have shattered many people’s pension plans. MP Shows Support for Community Furniture Aid

Chris Elmore MP has visited a community group in Pontycymer who supply household good for those who can’t afford it. Community Furniture Aid has been running from the Gothic church in Pontycymer and supply people with a full range of furniture from white goods to duvet covers. The charity will only ask for a small fee to cover the cost of the van hire. Chris Elmore MP said: “The charity is a superb asset to the county. MP and AM Concerned Over Ford Announcement

Chris Elmore MP and Huw Irranca-Davies AM have raised concerns over the announcement that the Ford plants requirement appear to be dropping from 750 to 550 employees. The letter, given to staff on Tuesday September 6th, says the investment would be £100 million to do 125k engines and would require “labour of approximately 550” rather than the 250k engines, £180 million and 750 employees which was the previously proposed investment. MP Calls for More Employment Opportunities for Those with Disabilities

Ogmore MP Chris Elmore joined Remploy workers in Bridgend this week to show support for the organisation. Remploy Cymru is part of the UK’s leading provider of employment services for disabled people. Chris joined staff chatting with job hunters using Remploys support services. Chris Elmore said: “Remploy has a rich history in helping those with disabilities, opening its first factory in Bridgend. I fully support their campaign to reduce the employment gap between those with disabilities and without. MP Welcomes Paper Mills Long Term Plans

Ogmore MP Chris Elmore visited Northwood and Wepa Paper Mill this week in the Llynfi Valley. The Paper Mill, that makes toilet and kitchen paper, employs over two hundred in the plant and has a long-standing commitment to the Llynfi valley. The plant, that has seen £100m investment over the last twenty years. Chris Elmore MP said: “As a major employer in Ogmore, it was good to hear the companies long term plans for the Mill and their commitment to the area.
