Chris Elmore MP has acted to reassure constituents affected by the collapse of renowned holiday firm Thomas Cook. The company has ceased trading with immediate effect, according to the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and has triggered a government-organised repatriation of more than 150,000 British holidaymakers, the biggest seen in peacetime. 22,000 jobs are at risk worldwide, with 9,000 of those based in the UK. Chris Elmore MP has joined with MPs from across the country to call on the UK Government to do all it can to support workers at the Orb steelworks in Newport following TATA Steel’s recent announcement regarding the site.
