Ogmore MP Chris Elmore joined Remploy workers in Bridgend this week to show support for the organisation. Remploy Cymru is part of the UK’s leading provider of employment services for disabled people. Chris joined staff chatting with job hunters using Remploys support services.
Chris Elmore said:
“Remploy has a rich history in helping those with disabilities, opening its first factory in Bridgend. I fully support their campaign to reduce the employment gap between those with disabilities and without. The work they’ve done already has found 17,000 jobs in Wales for people with disabilities. ”
Only 46% of disabled people in employment in the UK, compared with almost 81% of non-disabled. Remploy’s Specialist Advisors work with disabled people to understand their career aspirations and specific development needs in order to reduce the employment gap.
