Chris Elmore MP has visited a community group in Pontycymer who supply household good for those who can’t afford it. Community Furniture Aid has been running from the Gothic church in Pontycymer and supply people with a full range of furniture from white goods to duvet covers. The charity will only ask for a small fee to cover the cost of the van hire.
Chris Elmore MP said:
“The charity is a superb asset to the county. When vulnerable people are being re-housed or going from homelessness buying furniture is incredibly expensive and, for some, impossible. The charity really is a life saver for some.
I was lucky enough to walk around their storage unit and was amazed that they would turn everything around in two weeks.”
The charity can set up families or individuals on their own. They’re run by a husband and wife duo with help from volunteers. Their core work is to provide home furniture packs to those most in need who have been allocated empty accommodation, we provide all of the basics needed to set up a comfortable home.
