Chris Elmore MP turned Santa this week as he delivered a small gift to Royal Mail staff. The MP visited the Maesteg sorting office to say thank you for the extended work at this incredibly busy time of year.
The MP took an assortment of biscuits to staff who will be working round the clock to make sure cards, presents and everything else gets to families on time this Christmas.
The MP for Ogmore said: “I’m always amazed by the sheer volume of post that goes through post offices this time of year. Maesteg isn’t a huge sorting office, but the volume of parcels and letters I saw last week was incredible. I hope the treats I gave the team will help to keep energy up! They really do work exceptionally hard.”
The Royal Mail have said to get all 2nd class post in by the 20th of December and all 1st class post by the 21st of December.
