On Wednesday, Chris Elmore MP showed his support for the ‘Big Switch’ - a collective energy switch for people in Ogmore.
The MP attended a ‘collective switching event’ organised by campaign group 38 Degrees to encourage more people to move their gas and electricity away from the ‘Big Six’ to smaller, cheaper energy providers.
Chris Elmore MP added his support alongside 61,000 38 Degrees members who have pledged to move their gas and electricity providers, including 101 in his constituency.
Chris Elmore MP says: “I’m committed to doing all I can as an MP to help my constituents get the best energy deals available. This is an issue that lots of us in Ogmore care about so I’m highlighting just how simple it is to switch your energy provider to a supplier that works for you.”
38 Degrees Campaigns Director, Bex Hay said: “Having MPs on board with collective energy switching is fantastic.
Everyone needs gas and electricity and it’s unfair that the Big Six take advantage of this to get away with poor customer service, confusing tariffs or expensive energy prices.
MPs are joining 61,000 people across the UK who have pledged to switch this December. We’re taking millions away from the Big Six and investing into smaller energy providers to really start to shake up the market.”
