With borrowing at its highest point around Christmas time, with one in five taking credit to pay for food, Chris Elmore MP joined staff from Bridgend lifesavers Credit Union to promote responsible saving and borrowing.
Mr Elmore said: “saving and using the credit union is much simpler and better for customers than using traditional methods of credit.
The credit union means that people are much less likely to get into financial difficulties. Responsible borrowing and saving is so important. The credit union are fantastic for exactly this.”
