MP Surveys £1.3 million Water investment

Chris Elmore MP joined engineers from Welsh Water at a visit of the improvement works in Reservoir in Maesteg.

The Reservoir is undergoing a £1.3 million investment to provide residents with a reliable supply of drinking water for years to come.

The current reservoir is over 90 years old and is in need of significant improvement work.

The Ogmore MP said, upon seeing the works: "When they built the original works they didn't have nearly 100 years in the future in mind! The works are absolutely vital. I'm really pleased how Welsh Water are doing these works as quickly, safely and with minimal disruption as possible."

With the temporary tank now up and running the work will be carried out with minimal disruption to residents. The work should be completed by July 2017.
