Third AoC Beacon Award Win for Bridgend College

Bridgend College celebrated winning their third Association of Colleges (AoC) Beacon Award with a celebratory dinner held at the Seasons Restaurant last week.

The award, dubbed the Oscars of the Further Education world, was given to the college for Development of Transferable Skills. At the event, Simon Pirotte, Principal of the College, was awarded the prize cheque by AQA’s Simon Davies who sponsored the award. They were joined by Ogmore MP Chris Elmore as well as Leader of the Council, Cllr Huw David.

Mr Elmore said:

“to be awarded this award for the third time truly is a testament to the staff, students and everyone involved in Bridgend College. The achievement is remarkable and Simon and the team should be very proud.” The award was given to Bridgend College at an event at Parliament on the 8th of February which Mr Elmore also proudly attended.
