Chris Elmore and the British Legion joined forces on the Count them In campaign this week. The campaign is trying to locate former service personnel and calling on the government to include a question on future censuses so service people can be found more easily.
As it stands there is limited, data available concerning former service men and women. The profile, needs and location of former service personnel are patchy, something the British Legion and the Ogmore MP want to rectify.
Chris Elmore said: “The legion is calling for changes to future censuses to provide more detail so they can continue their fantastic work. It’s hard to argue against this principal at all. The country has a responsibility to those who protect us both at home and abroad.”
