Ogmore MP Chris Elmore has congratulated Pontycymer charity Community Furniture Aid (CFA) for their award success this week.
The charity, who supply household goods to re-housed homeless people, were nominated by the MP for their outstanding community work.
The MP said: “I’m delighted that the charity have won the award. They’re a superb asset to the county and a real life save for some. The volunteers who run the CFA are dedicated and incredibly hard working. I really am pleased they’ve got the recognition they deserve.”
The charity have been running from the Gothic church in Pontycymer and supply people with a full range of furniture from white goods to duvet covers.
Community Furniture Aid can set up full families or individuals on their own. They’re run with a husband and wife duo Marianne and Julian Cash with help from volunteers. Their core work is to provide home furniture packs to those most in need who have been allocated empty accommodation and provide all the basics needed to set up a comfortable home.
