Ogmore MP Promotes Revolutionary Methods to help those with Sensory Integration Issues

April 13, 2017

The MP joined with Irlen Syndrome suffers and learnt about a revolutionary treatment method known simply as the ‘Irlen Method’. The method, can treat the issue which focuses on the core problem: the brain’s inability to process visual information.

Chris Elmore joined an event held by Irlen East about Irlen Syndrome – a visual perception problem that affects up to 12% of the population.

The method uses coloured overlays and tinted lenses in the form of glass or contact lenses. It is intended to reduce or eliminate perceptual processing errors; the resultant retiming of visual signals in the brain improves the reading difficulties associated with scoptic sensitivity syndrome.

The MP said: “The amount I learnt about this fairly unknown syndrome was considerable. Over 10% of us are affected by it, yet it’s very rarely spoken about. The solution is revolutionary, and like most great ideas, looks very simple. It really could improve the standard of living of so many sufferers.”
