Hollie’s picture chosen for MPs Christmas card

Hollie Davies from Dolau Primary School has won this year’s Christmas card competition from MP Chris Elmore. Hollie, aged 9, won the competition of 29 schools to become the first winner of the competition.

Hollie was announced the winner at an event held in Dolau Primary on Friday attended by the Ogmore MP; local Councillor Roger Turner and chair of Governors Barry Stevens. Hollie was given a present from the MP which will be opened on Christmas day as well as a gift voucher.

Chris Elmore MP said: “it was a pleasure to announce Hollie the winner, the design is really brilliant. I was overwhelmed by the uptake of the competition and the standard of designs that the children have shown was excellent. Thanks to everyone who took part.”

The design is a picture of Santa flying over houses in the evening sky and will be sent to 1,000 people including First Minister Carwyn Jones.
