Chris Elmore MP and Huw Irranca-Davies AM this week met a new local business designed to help those with disabilities get around. Assisted Mobility Services, based in Maesteg, will provide transport with support for the elderly and people with disabilities around the Bridgend county area.
The business have adapted WAV (wheelchair accessible vehicles) and will help people with anything from hospital and doctors’ appointments to shopping and leisure activities.
At the opening Chris Elmore MP said: “this is a fantastic company with a really revolutionary idea. Nicola Ham & Linda Wongham, who run the company, are already taking bookings and we’re hearing great things from people who would struggle to get out and about otherwise.”
Assembly Member Huw Irranca-Davies AM added: “For all of us, including those who have a disability or mobility issues, it’s so important to be able to get out and about. So it’s great to have this business on our doorsteps providing another option for assisted travel.”
