Following the first week back in Parliament after the summer recess, MP for Ogmore, Chris Elmore, attended the Prosecco and Strawberries event at the Boars Head, Pontyclun.
The event was organised by the Pontyclun Bosom Pals: the breast cancer support group for Pontyclun and the surrounding areas. Also in attendance were Ogmore Assembly Member, Huw Irranca-Davies, and Assembly Member for Pontypridd, Mick Antoniw.
The Ogmore MP commented: "Cancer is something which affects each and every one of us. It's so refreshing to see the community coming together to help raise vital funds for the loved ones of those suffering with breast cancer."
This event falls prior to the now annual "World's Biggest Coffee Morning" held by MacMillan across the UK.
Huw Irranca-Davies AM added: “Yet another great day with the Pontyclun Bosom Pals, a valued and much loved group in our community helping patients, carers and families with both physical and emotional support. The prosecco and strawberries were also a treat.”
The Pontyclun Bosom Pals meet on the first Monday of every month (unless it falls on a bank holiday). If you would like to join them for a friendly, confidential, supportive get-together, please go along to the Pavilion in Talbot Green at 7:30pm. For further information, please call 07563 795885.
