Ogmore MP's "Big Day Out" in Caerau

October 16, 2017

Chris Elmore MP has had a fantastic day visiting local residents and community projects across Caerau, Maesteg.

Throughout the day, Mr Elmore visited the Noddfa Community Project, Caerau Primary School and Caerau Community Garden before rounding off with an Advice Surgery for constituents.

Chris Elmore MP commented: “I’ve had an excellent day up in Caerau. It’s great to see the community working together an

The Noddfa Community Project offers opportunities for children, young people and adults to access activities, workshops, training, informal learning, accredited learning, as well as the day-to-day activities for all members of the community. The Caerau Community Garden are a community-run garden centre for the local population of Caerau which has grown in popularity in recent years.

Mr Elmore continued: “Many thanks to all the volunteers at the Noddfa Community project, all the staff and students from Caerau Primary School and, of course, all the volunteers at the Caerau Community Garden for giving me such a warm welcome. It really has been fantastic to spend the whole day working with local people, seeing the brilliant work they do and listening to their concerns.”

Mr Elmore was greeted by staff and pupils at Caerau Primary School. During his visit, he was grilled by local school children who asked questions relating to his role as the Member of Parliament for Ogmore. The children asked insightful questions to help them understand what makes MPs tick.

Commenting on the visit to the Primary school, Mr Elmore said: “I love visiting schools across the constituency. Many thanks to students who asked such interesting questions during my visit this week. I’d highly encourage any schools which are thinking of organising a trip to London in the near future to get in touch with my office to arrange to meet with me in Parliament too – it would be great to welcome you to Westminster!”.

Mr Elmore has been very active in local communities across his Ogmore constituency since being re-elected in the snap General Election in June this year.

Constituents are advised that Mr Elmore promotes his regular Advice Surgeries on his website and via Facebook and Twitter. During a typical month, there are normally four opportunities to meet up with Chris face-to-face at one of these surgeries.
