Ogmore MP Visits Mobile Cancer Care Unit

Chris Elmore, MP for Ogmore, recently visited Tenovus Cancer Care’s mobile unit in Bridgend to learn more about the service they provide.

Mr Elmore commented: “The work that Tenovus do in bringing cancer treatments closer to the patients in the community really is invaluable. I’d like to thank the charity and all the clinicians who make this mobile service possible.”

The charity provides a range of treatments, emotional support and practical advice to cancer patients in the community, meaning they do not have to visit a hospital as regularly.

The Ogmore MP continued: “I’m very excited to hear of Tenovus’ future plans for extending this service to different regions and with increased regularity. Bringing treatments to a community level means that patients can feel more at home at what is, I’m sure, a very difficult time.”

Tenovus’ mobile support units have been bringing cancer treatment and support closer to home since 2009. Since then, they have treated more than 5,000 patients and delivered nearly 25,000 individual treatments.
