The Tide is Turning for 1950s Women, says Ogmore MP

Chris Elmore MP has indicated that the pressure is mounting on the UK Government to correct the injustice experienced by 1950s women affected by State Pension age changes.

The Ogmore MP has been a long-time advocate of seeking changes for those women who have been affected by the changes brought in under the Tory-Lib Dem Coalition Government.

Mr Elmore commented: “With a hung Parliament and vast swathes of the country now falling behind this campaign, it’s time the Government started listening and addressed the very real concerns of the hundreds of thousands of women affected by this issue.”

Mr Elmore recently held a meeting to discuss the campaign with over 100 of the women affected across his Ogmore constituency.

Mr Elmore continued: “This campaign is truly cross-party. I’m proud to be the Secretary of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on State Pension Inequality for Women and my colleagues and I will continue campaigning on this issue until we achieve the justice these women deserve.”
