Ogmore MP Chris Elmore has put his support behind Clearly – a campaign seeking to bring clear vision to the 2.5 billion people who are currently denied this ability worldwide.
At an event in Parliament last week, Clearly gave Mr Elmore a demonstration of the simplicity of the solution to uncorrected poor vision by inviting him to take a simple vision check using a smart phone app.
The Clearly campaign has gained cross-party support, alongside key celebrity backers such as Annie Lennox, Lenny Henry, James Corden and Niall Horan. As part of this campaign, Clearly have called on Commonwealth leaders to put poor vision on the agenda at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in London this April.
Speaking after his eye-test, Mr Elmore said: “It’s utterly staggering that approximately one third of people have untreated poor vision. As a global community, we must do much more to solve this international issue which has such inexpensive solutions. You can help too by adding your name to Clearly’s petition.”
