Community groups and local clubs have gained one-to-one access to the latest funding opportunities at an event hosted by Ogmore MP and AM, Chris Elmore and Huw Irranca-Davies.
The local duo’s annual Funding Advice Day was held at Llanharan Rugby Club and provided local residents with information from 15 different funding providers. Members of over 50 local organisations attended the event following the success of last year’s inaugural advice day in Pencoed.
Speaking after the event, Mr Elmore said: “Huw and I are deeply passionate about facilitating events such as these to many of the fantastic clubs and community groups access to advice on what funding opportunities are out there and what support services are available to help guide them through the bidding process. It’s great to see so many new groups emerging year-on-year and people benefitting from the new funding providers which attended this year.”
This year, new funders TATA Steel, Rockwool and the Institute of Fundraising Cymru were on hand to provide support and advice to those who attended.
Local clubs and community groups who were unable to attend this year’s Funding Advice Day are advised to contact Chris Elmore’s office on 01656 860034 to request a funding advice pack and notification of new funding opportunities as and when they become available.
