Ogmore MP, Chris Elmore, has had a fascinating visit to a local plastic factory in Pontycymer.
Corilla Plastics designs and manufactures high quality bespoke plastic products for a diverse range of industries, from agriculture and automotive, to medical and marine.
Mr Elmore met with Corilla workers and the Managing Director of the company, Selwyn Jones, and was delighted to have a tour around the site.
Speaking after the tour, Mr Elmore said: “It’s brilliant to see businesses like Corilla Plastics thriving in the Garw Valley, providing employment for local residents and promoting growth in the wider region. Many thanks to Selwyn and the team for taking the time to show me around – it was very interesting to see some of the innovative products they make!”.
The state of the art plastic moulding machinery at the factory are amongst some of the best and most diverse in terms of product range across the whole UK.
During the visit, Mr Elmore also took the opportunity to discuss the firm’s concerns about Brexit and their plans for the future.
Mr Elmore commented: “I’m getting out and about across the constituency talking to local businesses about Brexit to ensure we can get the best deal for both local residents and industries across our communities. If anybody would like to share their views with me, please do get in touch with my office”.
