Chris Elmore Praises Vital Work Of Police Dogs Unit

Chris Elmore, MP for Ogmore, has visited the Metropolitan Police’s Dog Support Unit to learn more about their work to keep the public safe.

Chris is currently taking part in the Parliamentary Policing Scheme, which allows MPs to get out on the beat with police forces across the UK and visit specialist units to learn more about how they’re helping the public.

Chris Elmore MP said:

“It’s been a brilliant opportunity to visit the Dog Support Unit today. There are so many parts of the police that people maybe don’t think about, so it’s been excellent to see what a skilled job the dogs and their trainers do.

“I cannot understate how much I value the work of our police. And given how stretched their budgets are at the moment, it’s more important than ever that we shout louder and prouder about how important they are.

“I’m looking forward to continuing to progress on the scheme and I’ll be sure to keep constituents up-to-date as my work in this area continues.”

Chris has been on various patrols with South Wales Police throughout his time on the scheme and also recently visited the Metropolitan Police’s Firearms Unit.
