First Class Care In Ynysawdre

Ogmore MP Chris Elmore has praised the “first class” care being offered at the new Ty Ynysawdre Extra Care centre following a recent visit.

Ty Ynysawdre, located near to Coleg Cymunedol Y Dderwen, was built in partnership between Labour-led Bridgend County Borough Council and Linc Cymru. All residents living in these Extra Care flats has their own tenancy through Linc Cymru.

Extra Care allows residents to live in their own fully-fitted flats independently, while also having on site access to care provided by Bridgend County Borough Council. There are also a range of communal facilities available for use.

Following the visit, Chris Elmore MP said:

“It’s been brilliant to meet the team at Ty Ynysawdre today and have a look around the variety of different living spaces they offer here.

“It’s a really homely environment and it’s great to see such high quality care being offered locally. People deserve to live with dignity in their old age and it’s vital that everyone receives first class care when they need it. It’s clear that the team at Ty Ynysawdre are setting an example of how things are done right.”

Alongside the new Extra Care facility in Maesteg, Ty Llwynderw, 45 Extra Care flats have been recently opened, all of which have either one or two bedrooms.

Potential residents need to meet certain eligibility criteria such as being a Bridgend County Borough resident, being over 65 years of age, and must have a plan of care and support from social services or be waiting for as assessment.

To find out more information or to enquire about their application list, please call Linc Cymru on 02920 474030.
