B-Leaf Scheme Rises High At Bryngarw Park

September 3, 2019

Ogmore MP Chris Elmore has congratulated the Awen Cultural Trust on their successful B-Leaf training scheme currently being run at the Bryngarw Country Park.

Chris met with some of the scheme’s current trainees at their summer celebration and enjoyed chatting to them about their experiences on the programme.

B-Leaf is a work based initiative for adults with disabilities based within the beautiful Bryngarw Country Park. It operates as nursery and garden centre and provides an extensive training programme in horticulture and grounds maintenance. Trainees are supported by a team of dedicated staff who help them progress in whatever way they can to develop new skills, make new friends and ultimately lead more independent and fulfilled lives.

Members of the public can buy a range of plants and flowers all year round from B-Leaf as well as summer pots and hanging baskets filled to your own specification. They also provide grounds maintenance and landscaping services for local homes and businesses.

Chris Elmore MP said:

“It’s been brilliant to meet with some of the B-Leaf trainees today. It’s clear that they’re getting a lot out of the programme and it’s really great to see initiatives like this providing opportunities for people who otherwise might struggle to find suitable training programmes.

If you know someone who might benefit from being a part of the trainee scheme or to find out more about their products and services, please contactchristopher.britton@awen-wales.com.
