Late Christmas Present For MP’s Competition Winners

Local MP, Chris Elmore, has visited pupils at Maesteg School to present the winner of his recent Christmas card competition with their prize.

Riley Llewelyn won last year’s competition, but Chris was unable to visit the school to present him with his prize due to December’s General Election campaign.

During his visit, Chris congratulated Riley on his inspired design and also presented one of the competition’s two runners up, Shania, with an additional prize. The other runner up, Kian Thomas from Ysgol Bryn Castell, was also given a prize by Chris at a special assembly at his school last month.

Chris Elmore MP said:

“I’m really pleased that I’ve been able to come and present Riley and Shania with their prizes today – and I’m sorry that it couldn’t have been sooner due to the General Election!

“I’d like to say a huge thank you to every pupil who entered last year’s competition – there was certainly some stiff competition. I’m also extremely grateful to all of the teachers and support staff who helped make it possible for their schools to take part.”
