As communities across Wales look forward to a further easing of lockdown restrictions next Monday (6 July), Welsh Labour MP for Ogmore, Chris Elmore, is calling on his constituents to “shop local” to support local small businesses.
Since the pandemic began, Chris has been sharing contact details of local food businesses offering delivery services and he is now seeking to do the same for the many local businesses which have begun re-opening.
The coronavirus pandemic has had a devastating impact on many businesses’ ability to trade and, despite the significant support made available by the Welsh Labour Government, the future still looks incredibly uncertain.
Chris Elmore MP said:
“We have so many fantastic independent small and medium sized businesses here in Ogmore – many of whom have been severely disrupted by the coronavirus pandemic.
“As we ease out of lockdown, I’m really keen to do everything I can to help promote these businesses and I encourage local residents to shop local as much as possible. The shockwave that has been sent through many business’ finances in recent months will not be easy to recover from, but it will be made much easier if we all play our part.
“If you’re a small business owner and would like me to promote the products and services you have on offer, please drop me an email and I will share your details through my social media feeds.”
Ogmore constituents or local business owners who would like their company to be promoted via Chris’ social media feed should email firstname.lastname@example.org with the following information:
· a photograph of the business;
· a brief summary of the products and services on offer;
· the business’ opening hours/online presence; and
· any social media accounts linked to the business (e.g. Facebook page, Twitter account).
