Ogmore MP urges constituents to “Keep Wales Safe” in the face of ongoing local lockdowns

Chris Elmore, MP for Ogmore, has urged constituents to continue to follow the new Coronavirus regulations introduced as local lockdowns are maintained in Rhondda Cynon Taf and Bridgend.

He has also encouraged constituents to download the new NHS Covid-19 app which launched this week and can be downloaded to your smartphone from either the App Store or Google Play to know your local risk level, book a test if necessary and help keep the community safe.

Chris Elmore MP said:

“I know that the restrictions we are living with are frustrating for everyone in our community, but it is vital that they are followed so that we can defeat the virus.

“As the evidence from Caerphilly - the first area to go into a local lockdown - shows, if we pull together and stick to the rules we can bring the rate of infection down.

“I’d also encourage everyone to download the new NHS Covid-19 app which launched this week and can be used to check your local risk level and book a test if necessary, as well as letting you know if you are at risk of infection.

“Our efforts helped to stop the first wave of Coronavirus earlier this year.  If we work together again by following the rules, we can stop the virus from taking hold in our communities once more”.
